The flag of Niger consists of three horizontal bands of orange, white, and green with an orange circle in the center. The orange band represents the Sahara Desert, which covers much of the country, while the white band symbolizes purity and innocence. The green band represents the fertile lands of Niger and hope for the future.
The orange circle in the center of the flag represents the sun and the determination of the country to move towards progress and development. The flag was adopted on November 23, 1959, and has remained unchanged since then.
